Organization or Control

Traditional systems organize information through rules created by experts. Modern platforms often let users organize information themselves through tags, hashtags, and keywords.

While user-generated organization feels more democratic, it can also become messy and confusing. On the other hand, highly structured systems can limit creativity and personal expression.

If you were designing a learning community, would you give users complete freedom to organize content, or would you create a structured system for them? Why?
